Christmas Brownstone
Have you ever been to the East Coast and viewed all of the beautiful brownstones decked out for Christmas? Hi, it’s Patty and even though it’s been decades since I have been East during the holiday season, I still remember the Christmas Brownstones. It was probably my favorite thing I saw the entire time. This die sets inspired me to create one.

Getting Started
This project requires repetitive die cutting. You need to cut the window base, curtains or shades and the trim. You get one die for each item so if you are making multiples, you are giving your die cutting machine a work out!
First, I cut all of the curtains, door and roof top out of DCS Amazon cardstock. The background is Patriotic Blue and the building is Sno-Cone. The window background is Banana Split, the trim is Cougar White, The swags and bows are Wild Cherry and the wreath is Bonsai. The patterned paper on the presents is from Catherine Pooler.
Next, I used my BetterPress to create my sentiment. Christmas Cheer is the name of the sentiment set. I used Altenew’s Rose Gold ink and cut them out with the co-ordinating dies. Now, everything is ready to go!

Next Steps
For my snowy background, I mixed Dr. PH Martin’s Bleed Proof White and diluted it with water. I wanted big flakes so I did not use as much water as I normally would have. Next, I assembled all of the windows. You glue the window treatment to the window base then add the trim. This is done six times. For the larger picture window, I did the same thing, but used different curtains.
Next, I glued the windows and the door to my building. The die creates impressions as to where each of these items should be placed. If you don’t want to place the windows in the same spot, just cut a 3.5” by 5” card panel. I added the roof, steps, bricks, swags and wreaths. Lastly, I added the tree and presents.

Finishing Steps
To complete the card, I adhered the snowbank to my snowy card panel. To add dimension, I used foam tape on the back of my brownstone and added to my card panel.

Lastly, I added my sentiment to the top of my house to look like snow.

This card is just lovely, Patty! I recently made one very similar to this using row houses. I’m a New England gal, so this is something I’m very used to seeing in the city.
Thank you, Birgit
