Hello there ! How is everybody loving the first week of spring? Hi, Its Peggy here and I and I’m here for all the spring florals! Do you wanna make a card with sweet mint and Misty blue? Well.. sort of. Let me explain

Im talking about cardstock! The Lessebo Sweet Mint and Misty Blue is a Fabulous color combination for my spring floral Thank You card.
Lets get into it shall we?

The Prep
With a paper trimmer, I cut all cardstock down to 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 .
I use my Neenah classic crest Solar white 110# cut to 11 X4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2 to create my top folding card base.
The Layers
I used the 5 1/4 X 4 inch scalloped rectangle die to cut a beautiful scalloped layer from the Misty Blue card. The large empty space in the middle is the perfect placement to layer this sweet plaid paper on. I cut it just slightly smaller than the inside of the scallops prevent covering up the details of the scalloped layer.
The next layer is from the stitched arched die measuring 4 1/4 X 3 is cut from the piece of Sweet Mint Cardstock. This is the perfect piece for my floral focal piece to live on.
I cut the arch die directly out of the middle of my 5 1/2 X 4 1/4inch Sweet mint panel. As a result, I can use the negative piece to add an additional layer behind the misty blue layer. This also allows me to use every bit of this beautiful cardstock.

The Focal image

For the focal image I place the cougar super smooth 80# into my stamp platform and ink up with Memento tuxedo black die ink and press the stamp into the paper getting a nice crisp image. Because you have the help of the MISTI or whichever platform you prefer, you can ink up as many times as you need to get a good stamped image.
Pro Tip: Leave your stamps in your platform and stamp again after coloring, just before you cut out with the coordinating die. This time, stamp with a pigment ink like Versafine Claire Nocturne to get a really finished look.
Before I start my coloring, I look at the patterned paper and select colors that are complimentary to the colors of my cardstock. Altenew makes it very easy to color this floral image up using the coordinating coloring stencils. This Cougar super smooth cardstock makes ink blending with dye inks a breeze. Finally, we can cut out the floral image with the coordinating die.
For the sentiment, I used cougar 110 #cardstock to cut out the Thank You die cuts and It cuts like a dream. Because this hand lettered style font is somewhat delicate,I like to cut 2 or 3 die cuts and stack them creating a heavier, and substantial element.
Putting it together

I love the dimension foam tape adds to the card. Depending on how many layers and how large my focal image is determines the depth of the tape I use and how many layers I choose to pop up. This is a relatively simple card and I am happy with the result I get from one layer of 1.5 mm foam tape and the other elements glued to the card panels with liquid adhesive.
Lastly, to finish off the card, I added the iridescent gems and highlights on floral images with a white gel pen.

The finished card

Here’s a look at the final card. Let me know what you think in the comments. Thank you for taking a look. Enjoy the beginning of Spring!
Until next time…
