Daddy’s Girl Layout
Hi everybody, Cassie here with you today. Since my teenager doesn’t like having pictures taken, I seem to mostly scrap photos of our dogs. To honor Father’s Day coming up, I wanted to scrap a photo of my husband with his little white pup. We adopted this sweet girl from the shelter back in 2017 and she is really 100% my husband’s little princess. The picture for today’s layout is from a trip back in February when she came with us.
Gather Supplies
With the start of this layout came the idea to create a sunburst with the title of Dad’s Lil Sunshine. Accordingly, I pulled out the Light Yellow and Textured Blue Hydrangea cardstock for the sunburst and the background. As the page progressed, I added some Textured Shadow Gray, Textured Indigo Blue and Astrobright Re-Entry Red cardstock.

I used this DCS Textured cardstock:

Create the Background

I cut the large sunburst on my Silhouette Cameo using the Light Yellow cardstock. Once cut, I grabbed a full sheet of Blue Hydrangea and three stencils from Echo Park and Peartree Cutfiles. Additionally, I grabbed Distress Oxide Inks in Broken China, Stormy Skies, Faded Jeans and Wild Honey. And finally, came the Distress Texture Paste and Lindy’s Magicals powder in Teenie Weenie Bikini.

Using the cloud stencils and the three blue distress oxide inks, I created the clouds on the Blue Hydrangea cardstock. The starburst needed some extra interest so I used the Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink and the Completely Dotty stencil. Afterwards, I mixed the Lindy’s Magicals powder into some Distress Texture Paste. Then I used the My Son Scribbles stencil and added the yellow texture paste to the sun as well.

Finish the Page

To finish the page, I trimmed the blue cardstock and added it to some Textured Shadow Gray cardstock. Next, I added a layer of foam tape to raise the sun above the blue cardstock layer. It was at this point that I mounted my photo on a layer of the Textured Indigo Blue cardstock. Additionally, I cut a mat from Astrobright Re-Entry Red using an Avery Elle die. This was added behind the photo just off center of the sunburst. Finally, the title was created with some puffy letter stickers. Also I added some stickers and embellishments from my stash in the colors featured on the layout. As a final touch I added the date in the bottom corner using a roller date stamp.
