Purple Feminine Beach Layout

Do you struggle with getting in front of the camera? It has become a goal to not only get in front of the camera more this year but to also scrapbook these photos. This has been something that I have struggled with for many years and has been at the front of mind for a while now.  I am trying to be less critical of myself in these photos and to just document the moments that the photos capture.

Getting Started

Now that we have reached the middle of April already and it has me thinking about all the soft colors of Spring.  I went through my cardstock and picked out the following colors to use on this page.  I was at one point thinking of using a piece of clear cardstock, but ended up not using it.

Pop Tone Grapesicle cardstock

DCS Canvas Textured Shadow Gray cardstock

Stardream Metallic Kunzite cardstock

Stardream Metallic Fairway cardstock

I decided to use a floral wreath cut file from Peartree Cutfiles for this page and I cut it out of three different cardstocks.  I used the Stardream metallic Kunzite, Stardream Metallic Fairway and Pop Tone Grapesicle cardstocks.

Once I had these cut out I grabbed a purple watercolored patterned paper from 49 & Market.  On this background paper I added some Lindy’s Magicals watercolor splatters and then mixed some of the Magicals powders with Texture paste and a stencil from Peartree Cutfiles to add more purple texture to the background.

Finishing the Page

To create the finished page, I layered the patterned paper on a piece of the DCS Canvas Textured Shadow Gray cardstock.  I then layered the three floral wreath cut file pieces on top of the circle on the background and nestled my phone slightly under the top layer.

At this point I added my acrylic title and placed it on top of my photo over some empty space towards the bottom of my photo.  As a final touch I added a sprinkling of sequins around and on the cardstock cut files on the layout.

I find that I rarely scrap with the color purple, but I just love how this page turned out.  I love the different shades and textures of purple with the pop of green in the layers of the cutfile. Check out some more close up photos below. I hope that I have inspired you to get in front of the camera more and to scrap those photos!
