Bee Happy
Good morning and Happy Monday. Sharon here and I’m going to BEE sharing a bright and cheerful card with you today. For this card you will need one of Spellbinder’s older Club Large Die Sets Honey Bee Jar.

Bees seem to ‘bee’ a huge thing in the crafting world and I can’t wait to share how I made this super cute card.
I am a frugal crafter and hoard all my scraps because it’s all I need for a project like this! For this card you will need small quantities of cardstock I am using the bright colors that are available in the Pop-Tone Cardstock collection.
I am using Gum Drop Green, Jelly Bean Green, Sour Apple, Orange Fizz, Tangy Orange, Lemon Drop, Black Licorice, Sno Cone, Berrylicious and Blue Raspberry. I am also using Classic Crest Solar White, Curious Translucent in both Clear & Silver.

Starting with all the die components die cut the vase from the Clear Translucent cardstock, the lid from Solar White and the ‘water’ from Blue Raspberry and Berrylicious.

Glue the ‘water’ sections to the jar. I was going to add the upper section but changed my mind; leaving the translucent uncovered makes the jar more life like.

Next build your flowers and add to the jar. I love using bright colors and the Pop-Tone is perfect for this. I inked the edges of the yellow flower to make it look like a sunflower.

These tweezers are invaluable for creating a design with tiny parts. They are the reverse type that you squeeze to open. As you can see mine are well used!!!
Once your flowers are in place you can add the lid so when you place your bee he’s not underneath it. I am also waiting to add my bluebells so they are visible too.

Make up the bee from all of his tiny pieces, you will need a fine tipped glue bottle for this as his stripes are tiny.

I am using Silver Translucent to give his wings a little shimmer. He then needs to be adhered to your jar. I am using foam squares for this so you get a little shadowing from his legs.

The lid has a twine wrapping with a little Hi Bee tag. Using the dies, cut these parts from coordinating cardstock. The twine is very fine so the fine tip glue bottle is useful again. I am using foam squares on my tag for dimension. The bow goes on top of the tag making it look as though it’s holding it in place.

Now to make this in to a card, you can do this 2 ways. You can cut the jar twice from cardstock , glue these at the top and make a shaped card. Or it is the right size to add to an A7 card base. This is my choice but I don’t want the space around the card to be plain. That said, I don’t want to distract from my jar so I am embossing some Stardream Metallic Opal.

My embossing folder is a 3D folder and this cardstock embosses beautifully. It doesn’t crack even with fine embossing.

My opal panel is adhered flat onto my card base. You may need to place something heavy on this until your glue dries. I use one of my diecut machine plates.
Finally, add your jar. I am using foam squares for this, making sure I only add these where the cardstock is covering the jar. This stops them being visible through the translucent section.

Thank you for stopping and reading my post, let me know in the comments if you are loving all the crafty bees too!
