Flowers for Mother’s Day

What mother doesn’t want flowers for Mother’s Day? I LOVE creating Mother’s Day cards. I have several friends that always ask me to make cards for their moms. Floral cards seem to be the most popular, so today, I thought I would share two flowery cards.

Card 1:

The star of this card is the gorgeous, pink shimmer card stock. It is Pearlized Strawberry Cream 80# cover. It is so pretty and has the perfect amount of shine. I die cut the sentiment, from Lawn Fawn, out of Cougar 80# cover and then out of the Strawberry Cream card stock. I layered them together to add some dimension.

Next, I die cut all of the pieces to create the floral arrangement. The die set I used was Picked Posies from Concord and 9th. I used the following card stock: Pearlized Strawberry Cream, Granny Smith, Galax Olive Green, Amaranth ,and Cougar. These die cut beautifully and I am loving these colors together, too. I put together the flowers and started arranging them. Once I was happy with the arrangement, I used Press’n Seal to pick it up and hold the arrangement together.

The next step was to die cut a dotted rectangle from Dare2BArtzy out of Cougar 80# cover. I adhered the “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment and decided where to add the flowers. I added liquid glue to the back of the arrangement and placed it on the panel. I then, gently removed the Press’n Seal and made sure all of the elements were adhered.

Lastly, I glued the completed panel to a Cougar 80# A2 Folded card. Have you used these pre-cut scored cards? I love how bright white and smooth they are, and the time it saves.

Card 2:

For this card, I used the same die set for the flowers but the sentiment is Mamacita from Simon Says Stamp.

To begin, I die cut another dotted rectangle and stamped the sentiment in Watermelon Pawsitively Saturated ink from Simon Says Stamp. Next, I die cut the floral pieces out of the following card stock: Pearlized Splash, Amaranth, Granny Smith, Galax Olive Green, Strawberry Cream ,and Rubber Ducky. The blue flowers have a beautiful shimmer from the Splash card stock. It added just the right amount of shine to this card!

I arranged the flowers and used the Press’n Seal trick once again, to get them all placed correctly and adhered them to the rectangle.

Finally, I adhered the completed panel to another Cougar A2 card base.

Which card is your favorite? I’d love to know!
