Cutcardstock’s featured theme this month is silver or gold. Anytime I can create with the Stardream line, I jump at the chance. It is my favorite cardstock, the shine is just beautiful. This month I created an SVG file to make a cardholder. You could use it for business cards, credit cards, gift card giving, money, or special notes.

Hi, I am Janet from Try it – Like it – Create it, and I created this free SVG file to share with you as a part of the CutCardStock design team. Do you love working with SVG files? As a graphic designer, I love creating SVG files, and I will be sharing projects, including SVG files, with you twice a month.

To make the cardholder I used Gold Stardream in 8.5 x 11. I needed to use cardstock that was colored on both sides because they are both seen in this project. Cutting this file on a Cricut Maker, I set it to cut 100# cardstock and cut it twice.

Each fold has two score lines. Fold both. This gives the cardholder a bit of depth to be able to hold multiple cards or a thick gift card. Double-sided tape was used to seal the sides together.

The inside of the cardholder has two sections for storage and folds shut to keep the contents secure and in place.

Please visit me at Try it – Like it – Create it to download the free SVG file and to see a video tutorial for the construction. Cardholder (available 7/26)

Hi, I am Janet. I am married to my husband Dan and we have two teenaged girls. Nowadays I work from home. I have always loved to create. As a child, one of my favorite things to do was talk my mom into a trip to the craft store. I took my love of art and craft and studied Graphic Design in college. Then I pursued an MFA in Graphic Design and an MS in New Media. I left a prosperous career as a college professor to raise our girls. Looking for a creative outlet, I started a website; Try it - Like it - Create it
