Winter Wishes Slimline Z-Fold Card Tutorial

Hey crafty friends! It’s Tiffani from A Krafting Alley, and today on the blog I’m sharing how I made this cute Winter Wishes Slimline Z-Fold card. This handmade winter card is perfect for sending a cheerful hello to someone special during the colder months and features layered snowflakes, a sweet snowman, and lots of dimension.

If you love creating interactive or fun-fold cards, this slimline Z-fold design is a great one to try!

Supplies Used

Let’s Get Crafting

I started by cutting out all of my pieces using my Cricut Maker. While everything was cutting, I also used my machine to write the sentiment on the inside of the slimline card base with a black Cricut pen.

Once all the pieces were ready, it was time to start assembling the card.

Assembling the Snowflakes

First, I worked on the layered snowflakes.

  • I glued the Snow Cone colored snowflakes on top of the Indigo cardstock snowflake outlines.
  • Then I added foam tape to the back of the indigo layers and adhered them to the Dolphin gray snowflake outlines.

After assembling the snowflakes, I added liquid glue to the back of the gray pieces and adhered them to the slimline Z-fold card base.

Adding the Sentiments

Next, I added the sentiments to the front of the card.

  • I glued the “happy” sentiment directly to the card base using liquid glue.
  • Then I added liquid glue to the “Winter Wishes” sentiment and adhered it to the indigo outline layer.
  • I also glued a light blue Snow Cone snowflake next to the word “happy” to help balance the design.

Putting Together the Snowman

To assemble the snowman:

  • I adhered the Snow Cone light blue snowman on top of the black snowman layer.
  • I glued the scarf together by placing the lighter red piece on top of the darker red outline, then adhered it to the snowman.
  • Next, I added the Brick orange carrot nose using liquid glue.

For the hat:

  • I glued the black portion of the hat onto the white portion.
  • Then I added a foam square to the back of the white layer and adhered it to the gray outline piece.
  • Once assembled, I added liquid glue to the back of the hat and attached it to the snowman.

I then glued the snowman’s arms onto the gray outline using liquid glue. After everything was assembled, I added foam squares to the back of the completed snowman and adhered it to the gray outline.

Final Assembly

To finish the slimline Z-fold card:

  • I attached the snowman to the front of the card base using foam tape for added dimension.
  • Then I adhered the Winter Wishes sentiment to the card base using foam tape as well.

Lastly, I added liquid glue to the back of the gray piece of the snowflakes and adhered them to the slimline Z-fold card base.

Final Thoughts

If your electronic cutting machine doesn’t have a pen-writing feature, you can simply remove the written sentiment from the SVG file and handwrite your own message inside the card.

This Winter Wishes slimline Z-fold card is a fun winter-themed handmade card that’s perfect for mailing or gifting to someone special. Thanks so much for reading, and if you decide to make this card, please be sure to tag me — I love seeing your creations!

Happy crafting,
