Is it ice cream weather where you are? It definitely is where I live. I don’t know if August has an official ice cream holiday or not, but it should if it doesn’t! I am always wanting something cold and sweet on a hot summer August evening. Today’s card celebrates my love (and maybe yours too) of ice cream!

Using the Spellbinders July stamp and Die of the month, I cut out four ice cream bar flavors using two Curious Metallic Cardstocks in Ice Gold (vanilla) and Chocolate (Chocolate), and two Stardream Metallic Cardstocks in Jupitar (Strawberry), and Aquamarine (mint). I stamped and die cut several strawberries, oranges, lemons and blueberries on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# cardstock. I also stamped and cut two ice cream bar sticks.

The following inks were used for the fruit – Memento Danube Blue and Tuxedo Black, Hero Arts Dandelion, Strawberry and Tangerine, Archival Ink Fern Green, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber.

I drew and cut out the mint and vanilla dip and glued them to the top of the bars. I assembled the strawberries and embossed a piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80# with a Spellbinders Splatter embossing folder. Things were starting to look pretty yummy at this point!

I cut and layered two borders together and attached it to the card. To make the fruit more delicious, I thought it would be fun to partially coat them with Glossy Accents and Ranger Rock Candy glitter. I stamped and cut out a sentiment from the stamp set that fit the sugar sprinkled theme of the card.

It was time to assemble the rest of the card. Pieces of fruit were added to each bar and to other areas of the card. Sequins were added as the finishing touch. Finally I created an A2 card base of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110# cardstock and adhered the finished front to it.

Does this card give you cravings for ice cream? It sure does to me! So I’m off to get a cool treat right now!! Don’t forget to stop by the CutCardStock store and get yourself some ice cream inspired cardstock for your summer projects.
