Vellum with Unbelievable Color and Texture
Ever wonder what would happen if you soaked vellum cardstock with color? Maybe not, but you will want to try it after seeing my results. Karen here with a happy hello!

Isn’t the texture and color in this card amazing? It takes just a steps and products to create this look.
Supplies Used:

CutCardStock Used:
CTI Glama Natural Translucent (Vellum) CLEAR 48lb Cover 8.5×11 Card Stock
Classic CREST SOLAR WHITE Card Stock 8.5×11
Other Supplies Used:
Lindy’s Magical Shakers purple, blue and gold
Spellbinders Crackle Paint 3D Embossing Folder
Spellbinders White Liner Sheets Double Sided Adhesive Sheets
Water Spray Bottle
Layered Love Die from Gina K Designs
First steps to create the texture and color:

After embossing CutCardStock’s vellum in a crackle embossing folder, sprinkle on three colors of Lindy’s Magical Shimmer Pigment Powders. Next spritz the powders with water. Continue moving the shimmer powders with water until you are happy with the look. Soak up excess water with paper towel. Finally set the colored vellum aside to dry several hours. If needed, finish drying the vellum piece with a heat gun.

Emboss the colored vellum again in the Crackle 3D embossing folder.
Finishing Steps:

The finished vellum piece tears easily, so the best way to attach it to a card base is to use two sided adhesive sheets. Apply a 5 ½ x 4 ¼ two sided adhesive sheet to the front of a white card base. Gently press the textured colorful vellum sheet into the sticky sheet and trim off the excess.
To finish the card, add three see through Victoria Lynn Heart Stickers, available at CutCardStock, and a love die cut sentiment layered on vellum.

I hope this card inspires you to give this colorful technique with vellum a try. Then join me in sending some handmade joy out into our world!
Cardmaking Joy & Hugs, Karen
