Colorblock Backgrounds for the Win!

Hello. It is Teri with TerisMailbox sharing two Colorblock backgrounds for CutCardStock! I was inspired by one of the color sets in the Color Cube. I used #143, a rich fall themed set of rich colors! I used the same Altenew stamp set on both with unique backgrounds. Such unique looks with one simple change!

Create the Colorblock Card Base

Following the color cues on the Color Cube card I selected, I gathered the following colors: Lessebo Moss Green, Red Wagon, Lessebo Sunflower and Lessebo Flame. I cut the shapes for the card on the right first, knowing I wanted both a square and a triangle in the design. The second two panel was simply a result of the left over colors.

I attached the pieces to a card panel of Cougar White 80 lb. Cardstock.

Stamp and Heat Emboss the Images

I pulled out Atenew’s Sunshine Flower set for the images. I wanted a large floral image to fill the background. On the four panel base, I heat embossed the bloom in the lower right corner of the panel along with a sentiment centered in the Flame square.

Gold Splatters provide another level of interest.

For the two-color panel, I stamped and embossed the same image in the center of the card panel. I inserted the panel into the coordinating 3D embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine. I love how the folder added dimension and interest to the card front.

Additional gold splatters add the Wow!

I attached the shapes to a card base using Cougar White 110 lb. Cardstock (my favorite card base). Did you know CutCardStock can trim and score your bases? Amazing timesaver!

  1. These are gorgeous. I got both sets of the color cubes over a year ago and have used them once or twice. You’ve inspired me to get them out for a play! 🙂
