Masculine Birthday Card

Hey everybody! Do you struggle with masculine cards? I’m enjoying them more and prefer to keep them clean and simple. Leslie here, sharing a CAS masculine birthday card featuring our Pop Tone Lemon Drop and Pop Tone Red Hot which I paired with our Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock. The Pop Tone line is one of my favorites because of all the beautiful colors. I used a stamp set and punch in my stash that I think I’ve only used once and felt like they needed to come out for another play!

Cut Card Base and Embellishing Strips

Cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from Cougar Smooth 100# White cardstock. Also cut embellishing strips for the inside from Pop Tone Lemon Drop and Pop Tone Red Hot cardstock.

Stamp Lake and Sailboat Shadow

Stamp the lake in medium blue ink on the card base. Similarly, stamp the sailboat shadow in a slightly darker blue ink.

Create Sun and Sailboat Elements

Die cut a stitched circle for the sun from Pop Tone Lemon Drop cardstock. Next, stamp the lake across the bottom of the circle and fussy cut the border to match up with the lake stamped on the card front. Ink blend yellow distress ink around the edges of the circle with a blending brush to give it just a bit of dimension.

Create the sailboat by stamping the sails in red ink and the base in gray ink. Punch them with the coordinating punch, and assemble.

Adhere Elements and Add Sentiments

Adhere the sun and sailboat to the card front. Add a stamped sentiment to the card front and the inside.

Complete Card

Complete the card by stamping a flock of birds on the front, and adhering the embellishing strips to the inside.
