Christmas Book
Hi Friends!
For today’s card share I created a Christmas card using several CutCardStock papers, Waffle Flower and Pixi Dust Designs dies and Distress Oxide inks. I intended for it to look like it’s the beginning of the story “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”. A classic Christmas book for Children.

CutCardStock Used:
- Cougar White
- Glama Kraft
- Pop-Tone Wild Cherry
- Discount Cardstock Bonsai
- Discount Cardstock Granny Smith
- Glama Natural Translucent
- Lessebo Coffee Bean
- Discount Cardstock Silver Glitter
- Discount Cardstock Patriotic Blue
- Discount Cardstock Yellow Jacket
Getting Started
First, I cut the book out of Cougar White Cardstock. Next, I cut the holly out of Bonsai and Granny Smith Apple and the berries from Pop-Tone Wild Cherry. I cut the cookies out of Lessebo Coffee Bean and Glama Kraft. The milk bottle is cut from Glama Natural Translucent Cardstock. Lastly, I cut the background out of Patriotic Blue Cardstock using Catherine Pooler’s Starry Night Coverplate. I put a piece of Discount Cardstock Yellow Jacket behind it.

Ink Blending
I used the co-ordinating Open Book stencil and die from Waffle Flower to create the book. My first step was to ink blend the edges with Distress Oxide Ground Espresso ink. Next, I ink blended the pages using Distress Oxide Antique Linen ink. I used the word impression plate included in the die set to create the words on the right page. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps Wonder of Christmas stamp set on the left page and added a little gold accent on the books edges.

Creating the Background
I started by grabbing a 4.25 inch by 5.5 inch piece of Discount Cardstock Patriotic Blue cardstock and Discount Cardstock Yellow Jacket cardstock. I cut the background out using Catherine Pooler’s Starry Night Cover Plate die. Next, I blended Catherine Poolers Juniper Mist Ink around the edges of the background. Finally, I adhered the starry panel to the Yellow Jacket Cardstock to finish the background.

Last Steps
To Finish the card, I adhered the cookies to the plate. I adhered the holly to the book and added the cookies to the book. Then, I ran the milk bottle through my Xyron Sticker Maker and added it to the book. Lastly, I added the silver cap to the milk bottle and my card was complete.
Thanks so much for stopping by! See you soon!
