Sweet as Honey!

Hey everyone! I am so super excited to be sharing this with you today! I am absolutely in love with this glitter cardstock! It was perfect for this adorable picture of my niece. It paired so nicely with this paper from Honey Bee Stamps, along with the awesome wood pieces from Some Assemblage Needed. Throw in some Catherine Pooler, Nuvo, and SMS sequns, I couldn’t be more happy with how this turned out!

Getting started, I pulled out a sheet of Cougar White, Silk Glitter Aqua and Silk Glitter Opulent Opal cardstock. I cut both glitter sheets in half, so I have a 6×12 piece of each. Using the Cougar White cardstock as my base, I use Score-Tape to adhere both pieces of the glitter cardstock to it. I then pull out a sheet each of Classic Crest Solar White, Pop-Tone Gum Drop Green, Smooth Chamomile Yellow, and Basis Coral. I also used a premade mixed media 6×8 sheet from Vicki Boutin. These are the colors I use to layer behind my photo.

I matted and layered my photo, pulled out what I was certain I wanted to use. The Honey Bee Stamps 6×6 pad and the wood pieces and Title pieces. I flipped through the pad pulling out some pieces so I could layer them behind the mixed media piece. Hexagons, or Honey Combs, are my favorite shape so using the sweet as honey title was my inspiration for this entire page. The glitter cardstock was perfect because it gave that shiny, glittery look and feel I wanted. What goes better with honey than bees! The further I went on, the more I loved all of it.

I wanted to do something with the title. The white got lost. So, using Catherine Pooler Polished, and White Glitter embossing powder, I inked it up, using the ink as the “glue” for the powder and got an awesome pink glitter on part of my title. The “Honey” part of the title, I used Fossilized Amber and Scattered Straw Distress Oxide and blended them Dark to Light.

Taking all the 6×6 papers, I cut them into all different sizes. I wanted to use a bunch of them all around the mixed media part with all different patterns all over. I used 4 of the sheets to fussy cut bees, flowers, and the hexagons. I played with the layers a few times before I finally glued things down.

Layers are glued down. I have my title where I want, not yet attached, but where I want it. I have the honey comb and bee pieces where I want them, but I felt like they needed to really pop. I love these pieces and this layout was so glittery and bright, I wanted them to be as well.

I used the Golden Ochre Nuvo glitter marker to color both the Bee and the Honey comb wood pieces. I added the fussy cut hexagons, then the flower and bees with some foam dots. Adding some gorgeous sequins from SpiegelMom Scraps. All thats left now, Nuvo Drops!

I love the wag this came together.. The glitter carstock really made this page perfect. It set the tone for glitter, sparkle, sugary sweet to surround my adorable little niece! I hope you find inspiration to glitter cardstock. Combining it with the sweetest pictures and papers, you cant go wrong!

Thanks to popping in. Happy Scrapping!
