A Flowery Thank You
Hi everyone, Natalie here. I know I used navy on my last card, but honestly, I loved it so much that I couldn’t resist making another one. Using a dark base on cards can give such a striking look. It doesn’t always have to be elegant. The Lessebo Navy Blue cardstock is a gorgeous choice for all types of cards.
I want to start by giving you a look at my card.

Making the card base;
To make my card, I first made my card base measuring 5 1/2 X 8 1/2. I then scored it at 4 1/4 for a side folding card. Next, a Navy Blue panel was cut, measuring 3 3/4 x 5 inches. Then I embossed the panel using an embossing folder and ran it through my die-cutting machine. For even more interest, I took a navy ink pad and ran it lightly over the embossed surface. You can see a close-up below. I added this to the card base using foam adhesive to give a little height. I have mailed quite a few cards that use the dimension, and they have all mailed just fine.

It almost gives the panel a 3D look. Isn’t that gorgeous!
Making the flowers;
Now it is time to die-cut the flowers and sentiment. For the flowers, I used Pink Tutu, Raspberry Ice, and Light Yellow. Leaves were made using Granny Smith, with the sentiment cut from Lessebo Navy Blue.

The flowers were then glued together and added to the card in a random pattern. My goal was to keep these in the center of the card, so that the embossed background would still show. The sentiment was added last, using liquid glue.
Here is another angle of the card. With this one, you can really see the embossed and inked background. I love it and will be trying it more often.

I hope you have enjoyed my card for today and will follow me on Instagram.
