Happy Mother’s Day

Hello friends, Melissa here bringing you a fun fold card for a special Mom in your life. But really, this card is so versatile, you’ll use it for more than just a Mother’s Day card. It’s not my design, I saw this fun fold design on YouTube. It’s so much fun to make. Let’s get our supplies together and get started.

Supplies:

Let’s get started.

Firstly, cut your base from Neenah Classic Crest Solar white cardstock. This will measure 5 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ and you will score on the 6 1/2″ side at 4 1/4″ to create a standard A2 size base.

Next, fold on the score line and give it a good crease with your bone folder. Set aside.

Your next piece of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock is cut at 3 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ and scored at 2″, 3″, 5 1/2″ and 8″. With the orientation just as you see below, the 1st and 2nd lines are mountain fold and 3rd and 4th lines are valley folds.

The next step is to cut your layers. I measured each section and then cut 1/4″ smaller. It’s really up to you how many layers you want to create. I went with two layers.

Now adhere your layers to each other and then adhere to the card.

You will want some white blank layers for sentiments and personalization.

Stamp your sentiment and other images if you’d like. I missed taking photos of die cutting the flowers I used on the front.

Now, center the front of the mechanism panel on the front of the base panel, lining the base flap up with the score line, but don’t go over it. I suggest using wet glue to adhere.

Flip the mechanism all the way over so the back side is facing upward and then close the back base over it to adhere.

If assembled correctly, it should look like this! You can either stamp on the front while panel or decorate like I have. I adhered die cut flowers, taking care to avoid gluing over the score lines.

Finally, here’s the front. Didn’t it turn out pretty!? And when you open it, it looks like this….

I hope you have been inspired to create this fun fold card. Have a great day!
