Hawaiian Animal Print Card
Have you seen those shirts you can order with your dog or cat’s face on them? Perhaps you have and you’ve even ordered one for your favorite animal lover! Hi everyone, it’s Maureen today. I have a card that will be a perfect pairing for a gift just like that. It’s a “purr-fect” card to make for Father’s Day…or practically anytime you wish!

This is a great project if you have a dad who is also a pet lover. And also perfect because the red, white and blue CutCardStock papers are on sale this month. I’ve started with Basis Light Blue and cut one panel at 4″ x 5.5″ and one at 5.5″ x 8″. Fold on the long edge like a tri-fold, at 2″ on each side. Make 2 other square cuts at 2″ each.

Fold back the top two corners of your folded sides at about 2″ to create a collar. Then adhere the 2″ square Basis Light Blue pieces to the back of your card. Make sure you glue them inward enough so the width of the card will fit your envelope. In my final project, I ended up trimming the corners of the squares because I forgot this important step.

For dimension, I’ve sponged darker blue ink in several areas to resemble water or a sky backdrop. This is also done on the back panel piece as well as the sleeves and collar.

Next, I cut out about 25 Hawaiian print leaves in Blast Off Blue. These are a couple different styles, for variety. You can also use your electronic cutting machine to do an assortment of these cuts. They are about 1″ in size.

Glue these in a random pattern across all your shirt and back panel. Take the shirt now and trim the overhanging edges of the Blast Off Blue leaves with a small scissors.

I’ve used cat dies in my stash and cut the face layers in Dolphin Gray and Pop Tone Black Licorice. These are glued to the shirt in random areas on the front and back of the card.

Your final step will be to cut a Classic Crest Solar White panel for the inside of the card so you can write a message to your recipient. It’s also fun to add buttons to the front and sentiments if you wish!

“Meow” did you like this project? If you did, I’d love to hear from you in the comments! Remember to check out the red, white and blue sale going on at CutCardStock this month too. Thanks for joining me!
