St. Patrick’s Day Layout

Hello all my fellow paper loving friends! Misty (@Mommyofkidz) here today sharing my last project for CutCardStock. I have been on the team for THREE years, so you can imagine this is very bittersweet for me. I have been very blessed to be part of the team for so long! With St. Patrick’s Day coming soon, it got me to thinking…what makes YOU feel Lucky or Blessed? Is it your family? Friends? Fortune? All of the Above? My list is pretty long. Today, however, just as I mentioned, I consider myself very lucky and EXTREMELY blessed to have had the opportunity to represent such an amazing family owned company for so long. In honor of the years I have been part of this wonderful team, I decided to Scraplift my very first project that I Did for CutCardStock, WAY back in 2022. It was a St. Patrick’s Day Layout, so I created another one!

Preparing for the LIFT off..

First, I had to find my first layout! I searched the blog, sifting through three years of my creations. I remember being SOOOOO excited to to be part of a team that works primarily with card stock. The possibilities are ENDLESS!! One could potentially create to their heart’s content…which I did! I have projects for not only Scrapbooking, but also for Card Making, Party Ideas , Home Decor, Holiday Crafts …and so much More! Three years of PaperCrafting right here on this blog! (**Be sure to click all the links and see some of my projects!) Finally, I found the layout that I was looking for, my very first share here at CutCardStock…. my Showers of Blessings Layout. This is the one that I will be lifting to create my Lucky and Blessed Layout.

I love the look! The woodgrain on the black still speaks to me today! And OMGoodness at all the clovers and daisies! I knew that this scrap lift was going to be easy and so much fun to do!

Gathering my Supplies

As usual, I began my process by gathering up all of my supplies. A variety of green card stock is a given for this Lucky and Blessed Layout, so that was what I started with. Lessebo Hunter Green and Lessebo Sweet Mint will start the clover patch. After cutting these, I decided to toss in a third green…Stardream Metallic FAIRWAY Green. You will also notice that I used the DCS Gold GLITTER Heavyweight 12×12 to make circles again…same as on the original.

Once the cutting was finished, I began the detailing. All of the shamrocks got had drawn stitches with either black or white ink, while only some of them got the green inking around the edges. I also decided to make a few layered with pop dot to give them a 3-D appeal. It was my intention to use as many of the same techniques on this layout as I could. I wanted to maintain the integrity of the first layout for this lift.

Assembly Time!

Wow! Since all I was doing was lifting my original, this was an easy layout to complete! I went with a lighter color background paper this time, and I also used a single 4×6 photo rather than the three smaller ones. This photo of my kids is most definitely one of my favorites right now. We had gone to eat dinner together, and they moaned and groaned when I asked for a photo, but it was MY birthday dinner, so they obliged. What you don’t see is the 25 other photos that they are all horse playing and laughing in. This was the ONE that they were all looking at the camera and smiling…sort of! I used a lot of shamrocks and greenery to enhance the Luck of the Irish, and I even hand wrote my own version of an Irish Blessing below the photo.
