Mini Love Notes

Although this is the time of year that is known for grand romantic gestures, I’m more a fan of simple and tiny surprises that let people know I care. Perfect to slip into lunch boxes, mail slots, or even a pocket, these mini love notes are easy to make and eye-catching thanks to Astrobright Cardstocks from the CutCardStock store.

Start by die-cutting mini envelopes out of Terrestrial Teal and Re-Entry Red cardstock. I like the 65 lb. weight for envelopes because it cuts nicely and folds easily.

For a little added fun, I embossed each envelope with a heart confetti pattern using a 3D embossing folder. (Tip – it may help to lightly mist cardstock with water before using 3D embossing folders to prevent any cracking.)

Because the surface of the envelopes is no longer smooth, you’ll need to fold and adhere the flaps using a strong liquid adhesive.

To create the mini notecards, trim Stardust White Cardstock to fit inside your envelopes (here I’ve trimmed mine to 1.5″ x 2.25″). Stamp an image and small greeting on each with black ink. (Note – the tiny colored speckles on this cardstock match the envelopes perfectly!)

I used simple images that didn’t need much coloring but wanted to add a pop here and there anyway. So, I added a little bright orange to the beak and feet on the penguins with a colored pencil and inked the edges of the cards in matching colors with sponge daubers.

Slide the little notes into your brightly colored envelopes and leave them as a surprise for a loved one. Since this is such a quick and easy project, why not make enough for an entire week or month?

I hope you enjoyed these fun mini love notes and thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to visit the CutCardStock store to purchase any of the supplies showcased today and if you liked this project, please leave a comment below!
