Make your treat bags BOO-jee!
Who says Halloween can’t be a little glamorous? This “Boo-jee” ghost treat bag topper brings spooky and cute together with a sassy little girl ghost, and it’s the perfect way to dress up your goodies. I’m Maureen (Mo’ Crafty) and I’ll show you how quick and fun this project is to make using CutCardStock papers!

First, start with a great cardstock like Classic Crest Solar White for your ghost cutouts. I’ve used a Cricut cut file labeled #M4C3D1B8D and cut them at approximately 3″ x 4″ in size.

This file comes with an offset, so that is cut using Lessebo Pitch Black paper. I’ve also cut part of my sentiment in this as well.

Glue these pieces together, but take care to NOT glue down the arms on the ghost. You’ll see why in a minute! Alternatively, you can take a die cut ghost from your own library and cut out the letter ‘U’ to make arms too.

Next, cut the pieces for the bow from any color you wish! I wanted a girly-girl feel so I cut mine in Astrobright Pulsar Pink and Pop Tone Orange Fizz. Glue these in place where the cutout allows.

Conveniently, I had a die cut that said “BOO” so I cut these in both the Astrobright Pulsar Pink and Pop Tone Orange Fizz. Then, I took a white and black gel pen and added plaid lines in a criss-cross fashion to both the sentiment and the bow on the ghosts. It’s ADORABLE and worth the extra time to detail these. I also added detail to the ghost eyes.

Now you will glue the “jee” sentiment on top of the word “BOO”. I made sure there was overlap enough to read it well. Tuck these sentiments under the ghost’s arms for some super cute fun!

To create the bag topper, take a 4.25″ by 4″ piece of Lessebo Splash Blue and add a fold line at 2″. Fold on the fold line. You should measure the length of your treat bag in case yours is a different size than mine. Glue your assembled ghost and sentiment to one side of the tent. By the way, these tents make adorable place settings too!

Attach the tent to the top of a bag of treats with a tape runner, or a couple staples if you need more security. Now you are ready to gift this “boo-jee” treat to any friends or trick-or-treaters!

Adorable Mo! I thought you used printed paper for the “BOO”. So clever of you to make your own plaid using the colored cardstock and markers. Such a fun way to dress up a package of sweets!
Oh these are so, so cute!
I totally LOVE these! And that patterned paper you made… great idea!
