Adorable

Hello! It’s Raechelle. I don’t know about y’all, but the fact that we are well into April is almost hard for me to believe. It seems as if the past few months have drug on and then, “Bam!” it’s April.

This month we are focusing on glitter cardstock. Generally speaking I try to avoid glitter as it’s a hot mess, but rest assured, the glitter cardstock in the CutCardStock store is far from messy. It’s super fine, doesn’t flake off, and cuts well with an electronic cutting machine.

For this layout I used a 12×12 sheet of the Silk Glitter Prosperous Purple CardStock. It’s less of a deep purple, but more on the dark pink/mauve side. I cut this heart cut file using my Silhouette and had no issue (I set it to cut twice).

I backed the open pieces using one of the new collections from PinkFresh Studio called ‘Happy Heart’. The soft colors in this collection work so well with the rich color of the glitter paper.

I also fussy cut the circles out of another sheet of patterned paper to add some contrast to the cut file and ground the page, which I placed under the cut file and photo.

Incorporating the photo into the cut file helps to create a cohesive look. Fussy cut flowers and butterflies create movement and whimsy and keeps the eye floating around the page.

It’s challenging to see, but there are two small spaces on this cutfile that overlap, so instead of using patterned paper, I used tiny scrap pieces of the CTI Natural Translucent vellum paper to fill them for a softer feel.

Some ink splatters, a simple title, a few word stickers, and a couple of enamel dots were used to finsh this layout.

I do hope that you are inpsired to try some of the fabulous Glitter Paper that the CutCardStock store has to offer! There are several wonderful colors to select from.
