A Golden Autumn

Yes! Autumn is coming and I am so excited! Gold is one of my favorite autumn colors, combining it with red completes the beauty of it. This was super easy to put together, I used the Stardream Metallic Gold cardstock on this layout, not just as my background paper, but on the die cut leaves. I also used some some Pop-Tone colors that paired beautifully with the gold.

As I said, this was a very easy layout to put together. Making the Gold cardstock the star made is easy. I used some patterned paper from an older Echo Park fall collection. I trimmed my photos down to 3×4, I wanted the focus of the photos to be the beautiful trees just starting to turn. I hate to trim photos down, but there was a lot of sky and water, so I braved it! I also wanted to pull those leaves from the picture to the page, using dies and pop-tone cardstock, I went for it.
I used the gold for the backing on all of the leaves. I pulled out some Pop-Tone cardtock for the top layer of the leaves. I used Wild Cherry, Orange Fizz, and Hot Fudge. I used a little bit of red ink on the edges so they stand out a bit more.
Matted photos, a few pattern paper layers, a simple title, and my leaf dies scattered about. I used some sequins, nuvo drops, and flair for some finishing touches to pull it all together.
I Love to keep my fall layouts simple, It allows the photos to shine. Pulling out the colors of those leaves enhances the beauty to the focus point. The gold pulls out those leaves. The red and orange elevate the gold with the brown breaking up some of the brightness. I could go on and on, but I want to see what you create with gold! DO you use it in a traditional way, or in a different, unique way? Share your projects below!
Happy Scrapping!
