Golden Hour Layout

Do you take pictures when it hits the “golden hour?” This is the time just before sunset when the lighting is great for pictures. It’s a glorious time of day!

In my case, this scrapbook page was inspired by the golden hour because I was able to snap a picture of a gold butterfly landing on my gold sunflowers DURING golden hour! So what better papers to choose for this layout than the fun metallics from CutCardStock?

I started with a rustic sheet of 12” by 12”burlap paper from my personal stash. I wanted the metallic papers to be my focal point, and this was a good counterbalance. I’m also using some muted prints of pattern paper to add layers to this page.

Then I settled on the Stardream Metallic Copper paper for some of the die cut butterflies because there is a beautiful tone to this paper that I have a bit of trouble showing you on the camera! It’s such a rich color and really shimmers in the light.

With my other butterfly cuts, I’m using the Curious Metallic White Gold paper, another gorgeous shade when you look at it in the light. If you notice in the background, I also have a square sheet of the Curious Metallic White Gold paper stamped and embossed with several butterflies in gold also. I really love how all the textures came together for this page.

My journaling is printed on the Basis Neutral 80lb. paper and it’s such a great paper to go through my printer. Sentiments are all printed in a brown ink. I’ve also embellished this layout with a few sunflower stickers from a local craft store, and some sequin bling as well.

This was a nice and easy project for a weekend and I hope you give it a try! Don’t forget to check out the metallic and golden tones at CutCardStock. Thanks for joining me today!
