Hello everyone, this is Lisa M with my first post for the CutCardStock Design Team. I am excited to be a part of the team. I don’t know about you, but I am ready for spring, so I designed a card for spring.
I began with 5″ x 7″ cardbase made with the Esse Pearl Smooth Latte. I then inked the card front with blue and green Distress Inks to create grass and sky. I love how the shimmer shows through the ink.
Next, I used Galvanized Curious Metallic cardstock (and it just happens to be on sale this month) to cut a gift card pocket and watering can accessories (from A Jillian Vance Design). I also inked all the edges.
Before attaching the watering can I threaded fishing line through holes in the spout to create the water. At the ends of the fishing line, I attached a clear bead with glue. Then, I attached the watering can to the card. (If you don’t see the water on the card above, I added it after attaching everything to the card, but it would be much easier to attach add it first.)
I die cut tulips from Pop Tones Cotton Candy, Grape Jelly, and Lemon Drop and the stems from Gumdrop Green. I cut extra flowers and fussy cut the center part out. I inked all the edges of the pieces for added dimension.
Next, I added the flowers to the front. I used Double Sided Foam Adhesive Squares to attach the center petals. I also added 3 flowers to the inside of the card.
To finish off the card I stamped Hello Spring and added a gift card to the pocket.

Lisa, your project for today is fantastic. I love how you added fishing line and a crystal bead to simulate the water. Clever.I like this curious metallic collection. It is beautiful and the galvanized color you used is all that and more.Pretty tulips too. They scream spring. 🙂
