You Rock

Hey y’all! I don’t know about you, but I’ve primarily been scrapping girls for well over 15 years, so having a grandson has been a learning curve for sure, but I’m starting to get the groove of creating more masculine pages. There are some pretty cool “boy” collections out there, and I’m having a good time stretching my comfort zone.

This layout features Silk Glitter Silvermist Card Stock and Discount Card Stock Pewter Grey Card Stock which I used to cut the cut file (Peartree CutFiles). These colors are perfect for the Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘No Limits’ collection.

I cut the cutting file twice, one using each of the aforementioned cardstocks above. I then backed the Pewter Grey cutout with the teal patterned paper, and then added the Silvermist Cardstock cutout on top. I was careful to line them up, but not perfectly so the Pewter would show through just a bit.

Prior to adding the photo and cutout to the patterned paper base, I added some floss stitching for extra oomph.

Once the stitching was complete, I backed the photo with Cougar White Smooth Card Stock along with some patterned paper. I then placed it at a slight angle on the base patterned paper.

I used the giant star on the background patterned paper as a guide to where I wanted to place the cutout. I then added foam adhesive for dimension and layered the cutouts over the photo and star.

I placed a star I fussy cut from a patterned paper and added it over the top of the “O” in the cut file and continued to add a few other embellishments around and atop of the cutout.

I love how all the layers and textures from all the elements add so much to this page! The Silk Glitter Silvermist Cardstock cut easily and was the perfect choice to get the desired look I was achieving.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to check out the CutCardStock website for all your cardstock needs (and maybe some splurges)! There are several monthly specials along with many other great deals to be had!
