Glittery & Feminine Birthday Card

There is just something about shimmery and glittery paper that makes me smile. It adds a beautiful element to any project. Here’s a simple birthday card that doesn’t feel simple at all…all because of the type of paper I used. Check out how to make one:

Supplies Needed

Basis Cardstock in white
Curious Metallic Cardstock in Pink Quartz
Gold Glitter Cardstock
Tombow Liquid Adhesive
Foam Adhesive Squares

To begin, I used my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine to cut out the cupcake design. This design is found in the Online Silhouette Design Store by the artist American Crafts.

The gold glitter cardstock cut like a dream on my machine. Check out that intricate design?!

Next, I added some Tombow adhesive to the back of the cupcake. The Tombow glue is the perfect choice for this project because of the fine tip.

Then I adhered the cupcake onto the shimmery pink layer.

To add a little more dimension, I used some foam adhesive squares on the back of the light pink paper.

I placed it onto the white card base.

Check out the amazing shimmer on the pink paper? And the sparkles on the gold cupcake?!

A project doesn’t have to be complicated in order for it to be beautiful. Just pick the right materials and you’re well on your way to a beautiful and sophisticated creation.

Be sure to check out all the white and ivory cardstock that’s on sale this month, and while you’re there, snag some gorgeous shimmery or glittery paper too! Happy creating!
