SPRING Scrapbook Layout

Hello and Happy Friday to you all! Misty (@Mommyofkidz) here with you today sharing fun new layout. It is March here in Texas, and that means that SPRING has spring! I know, I know…it is not official yet. However…with the beautiful days that we have been having, it certainly can’t be considered winter anymore! Anyway, as well all know, spring brings vibrant colors and beauty in nature. With that in mind, I decided that I wanted to capture some of that beauty in my layout today. Therefore, I grabbed my cardstock from the CutCardStock Store and got to work.

Decisions ~ Decisions…

I had already decided that I wanted to use a large cut file from Peartree for this layout. It just screams SPRING! With so many beautiful colors of the new Lessebo Cardstock line, I didn’t know which ones to choose! Finally, after mulling it over for a bit, I was able to narrow it down to the five colors that I needed. I decided on:
Lessebo Colors Premium Bubble Gum Pink
Lessebo Colors Premium SUNFLOWER YELLOW
Lessebo Colors Premium BRICK ORANGE
Lessebo Colors Premium SALT WATER BLUE
Lessebo Colors Premium AMETHYST
I also used:
DCS Discount Card Stock: Canvas Textured Wedding Cake White Card Stock
Silk GLITTER Opulent Opal 12×12 Card Stock
CTI Glama Natural Translucent (Vellum) CLEAR
DCS Discount Card Stock: Wild Blueberry Navy Card Stock

Once I had cut my digital cut file and chosen my cardstock, I set to work. I simply backed each word SPRING with a different color, and all the florals I chose to back with vellum. This process is super easy, but definitely not super quick. I think I watched a couple of episodes of NCIS while I was backing the cut file. Actually, this was the most time consuming part of the whole process. Well, I think I spent ten solid minutes just trying to decide on the color order! LOL

Assembly…

I do use a quick drying wet glue for MOST everything, Glossy Accents by Ranger is my favorite. It dries quickly and it dries clear. Since I was using vellum, this was an absolute must! I used a white gel pen to do the faux stitching on the letters. Alas, I have tried a hundred different brands, and so far, ARTEZA has come out on top every time for me. I buy those pens by the box! Since the cut file was so large and colorful, I knew that I was not going to need much more to accentuate the page. I pulled out one of my favorite Simple Stories lines and selected a few perfect pieces to coordinate. Once that was done, it was time to start assembling!

Final Product!

Once it was all assembled, I was absolutely thrilled! So much color and beauty on one layout! The best part…very minimal work! Aside from backing the cutfile and hand drawing some stitches, all there is on the layout is a few splatters and a bit of distressing. I know that, sometimes, our photos speak for themselves and really don’t need a whole lot of help to make an impact. Consequently, the photos that I selected are exactly that! What says SPRING better than these two cute kids sharing a little ducky umbrella in the rain!??

Thank you all for stopping by and checking out my layout today. Before you came, were you even thinking about spring? Well, if you weren’t, you are now! I hope that my layout has inspired you all. Also, I hope that you are preserving your own memories in some way for future generations. If not, this is a perfect time to start!
