Many Layers of Leaves

Hello crafty friends. As summer winds down, we know fall is approaching! I am posting this fall themed card with multiple layers of leaves for CutCardStock.

Create the leaf layer pieces

Check all the fall goodness and dimension on this card! Start by by dry embossing a 4.0 by 5.25 inch piece of Cougar 80 lb. White Cardstock with the Sizzix Leaf Veins 3D embossing folder. It has great texture. Run Peeled Pain Distress Ink pad over the top to add color to the base.

Use the ink smoosh technique to add Distress Oxides in Fall colors on a piece of Royal Sundance Kraft Cardstock. This cardstock is a great weight and has a deep Kraft one. Colors of ink used include: Dried Marigold, Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber and Peeled Paint. Once dry, die cut the leaves with the Sizzix Skeleton Leaves Dies. Cut a couple of dark orange leaves cut from Basis Dark Orange Cardstock for contrast. These are great for layers of leaves!

Check out the pop you get when layered over the embossed base!

Assemble the Layers of Leaves Card

Attach the embossed leaf base to a 4.25 x 5.5 piece of Basis Dark Orange Cardstock and add to a Cougar Natural card base. Isn’t the contrast impressive? Begin at the bottom and glue the layers of leaved by adding glue to the center stem only. Continue adding leaves in a staggered pattern. Cut the word Thankful (IO Die) from both the Kraft and Dark Orange Cardstock. Glue together, offsetting slightly to create a shadow.

Be sure to check out all the great cardstock and paper supplies from CutCardStock.com. Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’d love to have you follow/subscribe on my social media sites Instagram, Facebook, Blogger and You Tube.  Be well. Be creative!
