Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 — Foil the Background Panels

Start by foiling A2 panels using Opaque White Glimmer Foil. The striped design adds subtle texture and interest while still allowing the rosette to remain the focal point.

The Blue Calico cardstock has a beautiful texture but still foils wonderfully, making it perfect for this technique.

Step 2 — Die Cut the Rosettes

Using the PixiDust Designs Fancy Rosette Dies, die cut the rosette strips.

• Cut two strips per rosette from White, Navy and Red cardstock
• Each strip includes engraved fold lines to create the fan shape
• Fold accordion-style following the score lines

Tip: Use strong adhesive or double-sided tape, especially when working with heavier cardstock like the navy and red. This helps keep the rosette securely closed.

Join the two strips together to create a full circular rosette. Add the center circle layers and decorative toppers.

Step 3 — Stamp the Sentiments

Stamp the encouragement sentiments onto strips using the Erin Lee sentiment stamps.

Trim the sentiment strips and add foam squares to the back for dimension.

Step 4 — Assemble the Patriotic Encouragement Cards

• Attach the foiled A2 panel to a white card base
• Securely adhere the rosette using strong adhesive
• Add the sentiment strip below using foam squares

Make sure the rosette is firmly adhered since it creates the main dimension.

Step 5 — Add Finishing Details

To complete the card:

• Add white paint splatter for extra interest
• Sprinkle a few embellishments
• Press everything firmly into place
