Time Spent with Friends Mini Album

Hello friends, Melissa here with my last post. What a year it has been and it flew by so quickly. You know what they say about time flying when you’re having fun and I have had a lot of fun sharing projects with you made with the good quality and value cardstock available from CutCardstock.

I love making mini albums. They are so much fun and when you add some pictures and journaling to them, they become very special little works of art. It’s a great way to celebrate life’s little moments and if you make a big book for bigger moments, well then, it’s even more special!

Let’s get crafty! We’ll gather our supplies first:

The first step is to get the base of your book die cut. You’ll need a front and back cover, a spine and some inner pages. How many is up to you and the width of the spine. I put 3 pages into my book. The die set I used also came with some extras for pockets, tuck spots, tags and decorative pieces. I didn’t just stay with this one die set, either, although you could.

Next, you’ll put the book together by adhering the front and back covers to the spine. And depending on the book dies you may to make a spine to put your pages. The one I’m using uses the same die to create the front and back as well as the pages, so you simply adhere the pages to the spine. I recommend gluing down flat and moving the pages back and forth while it’s drying so your book always lays flat.

Once this is done, the fun part begins! Decorating! I kept mine down to a minimum, but you can add so much more than I did. More flowers, ribbons, more lacey borders and pictures. Let’s check out my pages:

On the left you have a tuck spot with a photo mat. There’s room for more than one picture or maybe some memorabilia. On the right you have a pocket with two tags for photos and journaling.

On these two pages you have room for a larger photo on the left and a concertina pocket page with room for photos and other things one might want to tuck in.

Here we have room on the left for a large photo and on the right more cut pockets with tags.

And on the back page left is a tag in the pocket that a photo or two can be stuck on and maybe some cute 3D flowers or some other such thing on the front of the pocket. And on the right which is the back cover page there’s room for another larger photo.

How special this would be to memorialize a celebration and then give it as a gift! This little 3 3/4″ x 5″ mini packs a whollop!

I do hope you have been inspired by this project. It’s been my pleasure to share my ideas with you this past year and I hope we meet somewhere on the socials! Be well friends.
