Selective Colored Backgrounds
I like to have some basic card formula’s in my back pocket. For today’s card project, I used what I call the Selective Colored Backgrounds design. Hi, it’s Patty and I am excited to show you this fun technique. To create a selective colored background, you stamp and/or emboss a background and only color parts of it. I like this for busier backgrounds that you don’t want to color every single element and icon.

Supplies
Getting Started
To get started, I stamped Hero Arts Bursting With Love background stamp on Lessebo Amazon Dark Teal cardstock and embossed with gold embossing powder. Next, I colored a selection of hearts with white colored pencil first, and then added the other colors on top so that they showed up on the darker cardstock.

Once I had the Luminance Purplish Red hearts completed, I added white to more hearts and then colored with my other chosen colors. I used Ultra Marine Pink, Anthraquinone Pink and Beryl Green.

Finishing Up
To create a resting spot for my sentiment, I cut three hearts out of Poodle Skirt, Hydrangea Purple and Raspberry Ice. Next, I stamped my sentiment on the Amazonian Paper using the same gold embossing powder. I arranged the hearts on my background and added dimensional foam to the sentiment. Finally, I added Spellbinders Fashion Gold Embellishments.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Always glad to see you here!
Patty
