Add Scored Details To Your Card

As a card maker, I’m always looking for ways to add details to my cards using simple tools. Birgit here with you today, to show you how to add scored details to your card using a score board.

The Supplies:

The supplies I used are #80 DCS Patriot Blue, #83 Lessebo Arctic Blue, #80 DCS Canvas Textured Scottish Highlands Green, #65 Pop Tones Sour Apple, #83 Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink, #83 Lessebo Blossom Pink and #74 CCS Gold Glitter.

Creating The Scored Background:

To add detail to the front card panel, I used a score board. Working with the Patriot Blue cardstock, I ran the stylus on all four edges at the 1/2″ mark and the 3/4″ mark, making sure the scored lines matched up in the corners. This simple trick adds a touch of subtle texture to an otherwise plain background. This also frames your focal point very nicely.

Creating The Card Front:

To create the floral motif on the front of the card, I cut all the elements from this Spellbinders die set out of the cardstocks listed above.

Assembling The Card:

I adhered all the floral pieces onto the card front using Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. The Gold Glitter cardstock adds a touch of elegance to the card, while the embossed lines give it a more polished look.

Finally to finish the card off, I added the gold glitter heart gems I found in my craft cupboard. The gold hearts match the gold cardstock perfectly.

The Finished Card:

I’m so pleased with how this card turned out. The brilliant colors of the flowers pop off this lovely, rich blue background.
