Elegant Floral Card
I find creating an elegant floral card my favorite type and style. How about you? Do you have a favorite type of card to create?
Hey there! Judy here with a card that combines the softness of vellum with bold layers of detail and dimension—all made possible with beautiful cardstock from CutCardStock. This design is perfect for cardmakers looking to elevate their layering techniques while playing with the unique textures vellum can offer.

Supplies Used:
- Stardream Metallic AZALEA 105lb 8.5 x 11 Card Stock
- Stardream Metallic CRYSTAL (white) 105 lb Card Stock
- MirriSparkle Glitter Pink Sapphire 16 pt 8.5×11 Card Stock
- CTI Glama Natural Translucent (Vellum) CLEAR 48lb Cover 8.5×11 Card Stock
- Cougar White Smooth CardStock 8.5×11
- Pigment ink + white embossing powder
- Floral stamp & die set
- Leafy edge die
- Liquid glue, foam adhesive, alcohol markers
Create the Card Base
Start with a standard A2 top folding card base (4.25″ x 5.5″) using Stardream Metallic AZALEA cardstock. Cut a piece of the front 3 inches from the bottom. Then cut a strip about 3/4 of an inch from the bottom piece.
Cut a piece of CTI Glama Natural Translucent (Vellum) to 4 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.
Using the edge die, cut a border out of Stardream Metallic CRYSTAL cardstock.

Trim and adhere the die cut border to the vellum. Add the 3/4 inch strip of Azalea cardstock to the bottom of the vellum.

Attach the vellum piece to the underside edge of the card front to complete the card background.

Build the Background
Cut a panel of Stardream Metallic CRYSTAL cardstock slightly smaller than the top of the card front (about 4 x 2 1/4 inches). Another piece is cut to 4 x 1/2 inches.
Die cut “birthday” with the MirriSparkle Glitter Pink Sapphire card stock. Two 4 1/4 x 1/2 inch pieces are cut for trim.

Adhere the pieces cut above and stamp and emboss “wishes”.

Stamp, Emboss & Color Flowers
- Stamp your floral images onto CTI Glama Natural Translucent Vellum using pigment or embossing ink.
- Heat emboss with white embossing powder.
- Flip the flowers over and color from the back side using soft ink blending or alcohol markers for a stained-glass effect.

Create the Leaves
Repeat the emboss-and-color process for the leaves. Die cut the flowers and leaves

Assemble Florals
Layer the flowers and leaves with foam adhesive for dimension. Position them so they frame the greeting and slightly overlap the leafy background.

Finishing Touches
Cover the edges of the vellum on the inside front panel with 1/2 inch strips of the pink glitter cardstock.
Finish the inside by stamping a greeting onto a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 inch piece of Cougar White Smooth CardStock and adhering. Add a strip of the pink glitter cardstock near the bottom.
