Patriotic Easel Card
Just in time to celebrate the 4th, it’s Teri with TerisMailbox posting for CutCardStock. I am showing a fun Patriotic Easel Card that displays nicely to celebrate.

Watch the video to see how I created this card.
Create the Card Base
Cut the A2 card base using 100 lb. Cougar Natural Cardstock into a 5.5 x 8.5 inch piece. Score and fold the cardstock in half, forming a 5.5 x 4.25 inch card base. Score one of the sides halfway to form the easel section of the card base.
Use the star stencil from the holiday small stencil set to ink blend stars on the front of the cardcase. Be sure to use a scrap piece of cardstock to mask the area not being blended.
Die Cut the Elements

Use Wild Cherry Pop-tone Cardstock to cut the flag base 3 times using a flag die. I used Sizzix 657483 to cut mine. Cut the stars from Natural Cougar Cardstock. Use Hot Fudge Pop-Tone Cardstock to cut the flagpole and add Foundry Wax from Ranger to give it a metallic look.
Cut the star line using Natural Cougar Cardstock. Use gold heat embossing to give the stars a metallic finish.
Assemble the Elements
Glue the three flag bases together. Line them up on the bottom section of the card front to determine where to add the glue. Flip the card base and the flag over with the card front folded in half and mark the back of the flag. Add the glue to the back of the lower flag only and attach to the lower card front.
Attach the blue field to the flag base using blue cardstock from your stash.
Glue the flagpole in the appropriate place and trim so it is even with the card bottom.
Cut the gold star strip into individual stars and add a few to the card front.
Add a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of coordinating printed paper to the inside of the base. This will add interest when the easel is popped up.
Create the Sentiment

Check out the fun glossy letters on this Patriotic Easel Card! Cut the letters and the number 4 using the dies of your choice. You will need 4 layers to create the stop for the easel card. Glue them together and add a layer of Glossy Accents for Nuvo. The Glossy Accent adds the additional layer of shine to the letters.
Assemble the Card
Use a T ruler to assure the letters are straight. Glue in place, add an acrylic block and set aside to dry. Cut six 1/4 inch strips of blue cardstock to form the stop on the card front and add a decorative strip below the letters. Glue 3 together forming 2 strips. Add to the card front.
