Happy Bird-Day Mini Slimline Style!

Hi friends! Happy Thursday – another week almost behind us. Time sure is flying by! Are you still working on Christmas projects? Leslie here, taking a break from Christmas projects and sharing a tutorial for making a super cute bird-day mini slimline. This is one of those cards that takes almost no time to put together once all the die cutting is done. I used Classic Crest Baronial Ivory along with an assortment of colors in our Lessebo line (my current fav). Used were Cherry Red, Splash Blue, Sunflower Yellow, Aubergine, Moss Green, Brick Orange, Bubble Gum Pink and Hunter Green. This is a super easy design with minimal supplies, so let’s get started!

Die Cut & Assemble Bird Houses

Die cut the pieces from Cherry Red, Splash Blue, Sunflower Yellow, Aubergine, Moss Green, Brick Orange and Bubble Gum Pink. These colors are all from the Lessebo line. I found it easier to leave all the dies connected and cut in color groups. This also gave me lots of extra pieces to assemble more bird houses for future projects. 😉

Assemble three bird houses in whatever colors you desire and set them aside.

Cut Happy Bird-Day Card Base & Layers

First, cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base and an inside layering panel from Classic Crest Baronial Ivory.

Next, cut an inside layering panel from Lessebo Cherry Red.

Using some stitched wavy border dies, cut three ‘hills’ from Lessebo Hunter Green for scene-building.

Finally, print and trim a cloud digital background.

Adhere Happy Bird-Day Layers

Glue the three hills to the bottom of the digital cloud background and trim.

Afterwards, glue the ivory panel to the red panel. Add an additional bird house in the lower left corner created from some of those extra pieces.

Assemble Front Panel

Add a bird brad to each bird house and affix the bird houses to the front panel on adhesive foam squares.

Affix an enamel sun and cloud brad in the sky.

Add Sentiments

Stamp the front sentiment on a green scrap in Versamark ink and heat emboss it with white embossing powder. Trim the sentiment and adhere it to the bottom of the front panel.

Adhere the front and inside panels to the front and inside of the card base, which will complete the project.
