Virtual Cake Decorating

Have you every decorated a cake? As in, fancy decorated one with special frosting tips and all that? Toni here and I have but it’s so not my thing. I’d much rather decorate a paper cake like I did here. I’ll even share my “recipe” with you!

The card base

To begin, I 3D embossed an A2 panel of Curious Translucent Clear cardstock and attached it to the Pop Tone Sno Cone cardstock card front. Of course, I adhered that to my favorite Blank Cougar White A2 Folded Discount Card Stock 110lb base.

The cake

Next, I diecut the Lawn Fawn cake and stand using:

In addition, I used Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff to create fluffy icing between the cake layers. You heat emboss it after application and it puffs up based on how long you heat it. But you do need to be careful as it can burn, although that’s useful for toasted effects.

And, lastly, I diecut the banner from Pop Tone Sno Cone cardstock and embossed a sentiment on it using Versamark and Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder.

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of your day! For a full list of products used on this project, be sure to visit my blog.
