Ink Blending on Cardstock

Ever since discovering all the wonderful cardstocks carried at CutCardStock, I’ve been hooked. Truth be told, it would be nice to own a piece of every lovely color carried at CutCardStock. But since most of us don’t have every color, it’s great finding new ways to expand the colors of cardstock that we do have. A great way to do this is by ink blending on your cardstock. Let me show you how I used the ink blending technique on today’s card.

Gathering Cardstocks, Dies & Inks

First, I chose the following cardstock:
DCS Dolphin Gray Cardstock, Pop Tone Pink Lemonade, DCS Sea Foam Green, and Lessebo Sweet Mint Cardstock

Ink Blending on Cardstock

Second, I did some ink blending on the following pieces:
FLOWERS & SENTIMENT: Pop Tone Pink Lemonade with ink blending to achieve a darker pink.
STEMS AND FOLIAGE: Lessebo Sweet Mint Cardstock with ink blending to yield a darker green.
FLOWER CENTER: Cougar White Premium Cardstock with ink blending on a scrap for the pretty yellow color.

Afterwards, simply glue together the pieces and attach them to the card base. Buying quality cardstock is definitely an investment. However, it’s worth it to purchase the amazing quality cardstocks carried at CutCardStock. They’re truly wonderful.

Next time you don’t have quite the right shade, just give ink blending a try and see how easy it is to expand your color choices.
