Flamazing Flamingo Tags
Are you ready to flamingle? We’re creating flamingo tags that will get you ready for the holidays and keep you in a summer mood. What’s more, they’re so easy to create! Hi I’m Maureen (A Little Mo Crafty) and I recommend you grab your favorite pink cardstock from CutCardStock and join me as we celebrate Christmas in July with a simply fun project!

First, start by cutting a flamingo shape. I recommend you use what you have or find an image on an electronic cutting machine. This die is from Spellbinders.

Cut as many shapes as you need in a pink card stock. For this project, I’m using the backsides of DC Strawberry Cream Pink and Pearlized Canvas Textured Flamingo for the body, and Lessebo Blossom Pink for the beak. Additionally, I’ve cut another beak in Lessebo Pitch Black.

Next, assemble the beak by cutting apart the Lessebo Pitch Black beak into pieces. Specifically, use the score lines as your guide. I’ve glued the black piece behind the flamingo shape to show through as an eye. To illustrate, the other pieces was attached at the tip of the beak in this picture.

Moving on, it’s time for the sentiment. With acrylic stamps, you can manipulate the bend by arching them on your acrylic block. I’m stamping this around the neck of the flamingo.

Then we will cut the hats for the flamingos. Again, use what you have – I have several santa hat dies that fit this project. I’ve cut these in Lessebo Cherry Red, Pop Tone Limeade and Classic Crest Solar White. Equally important, trim the white piece and attach it to the colored hats at the ball and brim of the hat.

Now take your favorite tag shape and cut tags in the same Strawberry Cream and Flamingo Pink colors. Once that’s done, punch two holes in the bottom of the tag. Slip a pink piece of twine through the holes at the bottom and tie a small sleigh bell to each end.

Finally, before you adhere the flamingos to the tag, dust the edges with a bit of dark pink ink. Additionally, add detail with a black gel pen. This will let the image stand out. In addition, add your final sentiment at the bottom with Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and a foam piece to pop it out a bit.

To sum up, these flamingo tags are ready for gifting! Not only that, you are one step closer to having some Christmas projects complete. As a final note, be sure to check out all the color choices on the CutCardStock website for all the projects you want to get done early for the holidays. Thanks for joining me today – see you next time!
