Quick & Easy Flower Cart Card for Mother’s Day & Spring
Have you ever needed a card that feels fresh, cheerful, and comes together without a lot of fuss? Hi friends, Rick here! Today I’m sharing a clean and simple flower cart card that’s perfect for Mother’s Day, spring hellos, or really any time you want to brighten someone’s day. This project was inspired by those charming little flower stands you see in spring—full of color, warmth, and happiness.

Project Overview
This A2-sized card (4 1/4” x 5 1/2”) features a sweet flower cart layered over a softly ink-blended oval background. The design is clean, but the dimension adds just the right amount of interest.
I used several beautiful cardstock options from CutCardStock to bring this to life, including:
- DCS Cardstocks – Green Curry, Fruit Punch, Sand Castle Tan, Seafoam Green
- Pop Tone – Orange Fizz Cardstock
- Cougar White Smooth 110 lbs Cardstock
- Cougar White Smooth 80 lbs Cardstock
I chose these papers for their finishes (perfect for die cutting and ink blending) and sturdy weight (ideal for card bases and layering).

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 – Die Cut the Pieces
Start by cutting all your flower cart elements from the cardstock. Use Pop Tone Orange Fizz Cardstock for the base of the flower cart and accents, and mix in DCS Cardstock colors for the flowers, wheels, and umbrella details.
Tip: Cutting everything first saves time and keeps the process smooth.

Step 2 – Create the Background
Use two nested Stitched Flat Oval Dies to cut a frame and inner panel from Cougar White Smooth 80 lbs Cardstock.
Ink blend the inner oval using Desert Storm and Toffee Crunch inks (or whatever two neutral inks you have) for a soft, warm glow.

Step 3 – Build the Card Front
Create a top-folding A2 card base from Cougar White Smooth 110 lbs Cardstock (4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2”).
Adhere the oval frame to the front of the card base, then place the ink-blended oval inside. Assemble the flower cart with liquid adhesive and attach it using foam adhesive for dimension. Add the sentiment to the center of the flower cart.

Step 4 – Finishing Touches
Die cut three butterflies from Fruit Punch Cardstock and place them around the design. Add a pearl to each center and finish with white gel pen highlights.

A Few Creative Tips
This design is perfect for clean and simple lovers, but you can easily switch up the colors for different seasons. Try pastels for Easter or bold tones for summer!
