Pet Sympathy
Sometimes we have to make cards for tough occasions and pet sympathy is one of those times. Special family members deserve special cards. Jessica here, and today I am sharing a pet sympathy card I made using several different cardstocks from Cut Cardstock, including metallic and foil.

I started with an A2 size panel of the Cougar 80# Super Smooth white cardstock. Whenever I’m going to be ink blending, I reach for this cardstock. It is so smooth and takes ink beautifully! I have my paper here with a stencil on a sticky grip map – these are great for holding down your paper and stencils while blending.

For the inking of the paw prints, I used two different brown inks focusing the darker towards the outside of the panel and getting lighter towards the center.

After I was done with the stencil, I used some more of the darker brown ink to go around the edges of the panel. I love how this adds some depth and dimension.

This stencil set has two layers that coordinate, the hearts and the paws. The hearts can be put inside the paws or you can shift the stencil and put the hearts in between the paws. I love that versatility!

Next, it was time to create the collar. I used the DCS Smooth Sand Castle cardstock for this, and then stamped a coordinating pattern.

Once I had all the pieces cut out, I put everything together!

When I am gluing die cuts together, I like to put a paperweight on top. The paperweight helps to keep the cardstock flat while drying.

Once the collar was all assembled, there were some final finishing touches. I gold embossed sentiment on a strip of the Stardream Metallic Saturn cardstock. I also used the Stardream Metallic Jupiter to make that cute tag on the collar.
