DIY Hello Friend Note Cards

Hello Friends! Misty (@Mommyofkidz) here today sharing a pair of cute DIY “Hello Friend” note cards. Do you ever feel like the you’d like to see something other than bills in your mailbox? Guess what, I bet your friends would love that, too! Of course, you can always go to the store and buy one off the shelf. However, a pre-made, generic card is what you will get. OR, you can go shopping at the CutCardStock Store for everything you need to make your own personalized card! I am by no means a card maker. However, since I have been forcing myself to make them more often, I have gotten a “LITTLE” better. I even give them out occasionally now. I can’t describe the delight that my friends and family exhibit when they receive one of my cards. It definitely makes it worth my time and effort.

You can share that special feeling with your friends and family too! Here is the list of the cardstock that I used on this pair of DIY note cards. Click on the links to see the gorgeous cardstock.
I began with a glorious array of Lessebo Cardstock. Dawn Maroon, Cherry Red, Brick Orange, Sunset Orange, and Sunflower Yellow were my choices. I wanted these cards to make the recipient feel happy and energized. I think these vibrant colors were the perfect choice!

Let the Cutting Begin

To start, I chose a circle image on Cricut Design Space that had a thick outside border. Then I duplicated the image 4 more times, increasing the size 1/4 of an inch each time. Doing this gave me 3 parts for each color, which I then began layering. When layered in size order, it creates a beautiful color effect that evokes smiles and happiness from deep inside! After layering each segment, I decided to glue each piece together to maintain the effect. I go t de-ja-vu when doing this ad remembered THIS layout that I did using this same effect. After layering everything, I used WORD ART in Microsoft WORD and created my sentiment. Easy Peasy! I used White Classic Linen Cardstock to print in on and DONE! All that was left was to assemble and add embellishments.

The circles are layered from largest to smallest to form a gradient effect.

Finishing Up

Of course, I had to make two cards, I mean, I have two best friends!! HA HA! Also, I just used all the parts and pieces rather that throwing any of it in to the garbage can. I am a frugal crafter for sure!
Thank you for taking time to look at my cute little DIY Note Cards. I can’t wait to send them to my Besties!!!
