Fun Jeep Shaped Card

Welcome back! Do you struggle creating masculine cards? I sure do! Today I am sharing a fun, shaped, masculine card.

Step 1: Die cutting

To begin, I die cut all of the elements from Erin Lee Creative’s Dimensional Jeep die set, out of the following colors:

Moss 83# cover, Galax 80# cover, Black Licorice 65# cover, Silver Glitter 74#, and Cougar 80# cover.

Since I was making a shaped card, I cut a 2 1/2″ square to use as the inside portion of the card. Next, I scored the square at 1/4″ using a scoring tool.

Step 2: A little bit of coloring

The only coloring needed for this card is for the windshield, which I cut out of white Cougar card stock. I used the the following Copic markers to color the windshield: C02, C01, C00 and BG000. It is very subtle, but I think it works.

Step 3: Assemble the Jeep

For the Jeep, I used liquid glue. Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose glue works beautifully for adhering die cuts. The base layer of the Jeep die has embossed lines so you know exactly where to add your pieces. I did not use the center bumper piece, because I wanted to stamp a small sentiment.

Step 4: Stamping

I stamped the “Best Dad” sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps “Big Tailgate” stamp set. Then I cut a small rectangle around it to look like a license plate. I penciled in a dot in each corner to look like bolts and I adhered it to the Jeep.

Next, I stamped sentiments on the white square for the inside of the card. The sentiments are from Honey Bee Stamps “Hooked on You” stamp set.

Step 5: Final assembly

I added strong adhesive tape, above the 1/4″ score line and adhered it to the back of the Jeep.

I gently folded on the score line so that the card would be easy for the receipient to open.

And that completes the card! This masculine card was fun to create. Have you started working on Father’s Day cards?
