Doggy Dad Snuggles
Do you love to scrapbook about your pets? Last summer we got a new puppy and he has been a frequent feature in my scrapbooking pages since. In honor of Father’s Day next month I figured I would scrap some recent pictures of them cuddling. I wanted to create a masculine yet colorful page and even add a fun shaker element.
So last summer we got a new puppy and I went back to work in the fall. My husband has been sending me cute pictures of the puppy (and our other dogs) several times a week. While I love these photos, they also make me a little jealous. While my husband gets cute & cuddly puppy during the day I get the version that wants to play, chew and bark all evening.
Getting Started
When I was planning out what I wanted to create, I grabbed two photos and printed them in black and white. Next I decided to use a cut file from Peartree Cutfiles as the main part of my layout. Once done I picked out six different cardstock colors that went with the Bella Blvd collection that I chose to use.

DCS Canvas Textured Shadow Gray cardstock
DCS Canvas Textured Blue Hydrangea cardstock
DCS Textured Pearl Hummingbird Teal
DCS Textured Indigo Blue cardstock
Astrobright Re-Entry Red cardstock
I cut this large background cut file on my Silhouette Cameo using the DCS Cavas Textured Shadow Gray cardstock. Once it was cut out I grabbed the remaining colors of cardstock. To back the smaller paw prints I punched circles out of the DCS Light Yellow cardstock, DCS Textured Pearl Hummingbird Teal cardstock and Astrobright Re-Entry Red cardstock. I then backed the bones using the DCS Textured Indigo Blue cardstock. Finally I added clear acetate to the large pawprints.

Once the paw prints were all covered I used double-sided foam tape to the back of the page to create a shaker box. I added a blue/white sequin mix to each of the larger paw prints before backing them with the DCS Canvas Textured Blue Hydrangea cardstock.

Finishing the Page

To finish up the whole page, I first added more foam tape to the back of my gray cardstock to raise the whole piece above the patterned paper background so there is room for the shaker boxes. I added white ink splatters for some extra texture behind my photo area. Once those were dry I added my photos that are mounted on coordinating patterned paper. I added some stickers that came with the collection. For my title I grabbed an acrylic title from Color Cast Designs.
