Rainbow Sympathy

It is a difficult time when we need a pet sympathy card, but it can be such a comfort to the recipient. The Stardream Metallic Cardstocks are a wonderful way to add elegance to a clean and simple card.

I used several of the Stardream Metallic Cardstocks to make this paw print rainbow: Jupiter, Flame, Gold, Fairway, Sapphire, and Amethyst.

I started with an A2 sized panel (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″) of the Cougar Super Smooth 80# cardstock and die cut that with a stitched rectangle and the paw print die. I cut them at the same time because I think it is easier to line the dies up and it saves time!

I cut small pieces of the metallic cardstock to put behind the cut out paws so that beautiful shimmer paper shines through. Some of the paws were easy enough to just cut small pieces to put behind them, but some of them were a little harder to get the right size and shape. For those areas, I used a pencil to make marks on the back of the metallic cardstock of where the paw prints were, and then cut around that.

Flip the piece over to the side without the pencil marks and it perfectly placed behind the paws! I just used regular tape to secure the pieces of cardstock in place.

The back is messy, but no one will see that!

I added the sentiment and then popped the panel up using foam tape onto a precut and prescored card base – I LOVE having these card bases on hand, it is so convenient and they are so nice and heavy! I use the 110# version.
