Stardream Metallic Card Stock and Metallic Markers

Hey there! Judy here with a card project put together for CutCardStock.

We are quickly approaching Father’s Day, so I thought a card for that occasion would be appropriate. And, I thought I would use Stardream Metallic Card Stock as it’s the Monthly Special for May

If you have not used these card stocks, you have to try them. They are beautiful and, believe it or not, you can use many different coloring mediums on them! I am using metallic markers this time around and a little bit of white stamp pad.

I started by using a 5 x 7 inch 3D embossing folder to emboss on a piece of Sapphire Blue Stardream Metallic Card Stock.

Next I used a finger dauber and white ink from a stamp pad to “color” in the raised cloud areas of the embossing. I used a light pouncing motion.

Similarly, I colored the balloons with Spectrum Noir Metallic Markers, and I used glitter gel pens in smaller areas.

Once I had all the coloring done, it was time to assemble the card.

I used a 7×10″ piece of Basis Blue scored at 5″ along the 10″ side, folded in half. This makes a 5×7″ card base. Additionally, I cut a piece of Silver Stardream Metallic Card Stock to 4-3/4 x 6-3/4 inches. Next, I trimmed the embossed panel slightly smaller than the silver piece and centered it on card base.

All that’s left is to add a sentiment.

I die cut Happy Father’s Day on a scrap of Basis Blue. Additionally I backed this with Silver Stardream Metallic and fussy cut it for a shadow effect.

Adhere the sentiment to the card and we’re done!

I am happy with the way metallic marker coloring turned out on this Stardream Metallic Card Stock.
