Hello Y’all! Misty here with you today to share an off the page project that I have been wanting to do for a while now! Normally I share my scrapbook layouts because, well, I LOVE to scrapbook! However, I also enjoy getting a little crafty on occasion and having a bit of fun. With Easter just around the corner, today’s project is just that! A fun little crafty project that you can do for yourself or for a cute little munchkin in your life. I made mine for my niece, but I haven’t given it to her yet…just warning ya!
I knew that I wanted sparkle and glitter and glam, so I naturally reached for my 12×12 DCS White Glitter Heavyweight Cardstock to use as the base of the bunny ears. The Floral Bunny Ears SVG file from Peartree Cutfiles was the perfect choice to make the cut.

Once I had my ears cut, I had to decide on my colors. That was easy…EVERYONE knows that my favorite color is purple! I pulled all my shades of Purple Cardstock and began backing the flowers on the cutfile. I used Translucent Vellum to back all of the leaves, because I just didn’t seem to have a green that made me happy! After picking my purples, I decided that I wanted my bunny to be a very light gray. I pulled out the 12×12 DCS Textured Smoke Gray and it was perfect! I decided to add a bit of light gray texture paints to give it a bit of dimension before gluing the ears down.

Putting it together

Once I had the cutfile completely backed, I added gems and tiny florals and pearls. I wanted this to be SUPER girly for my little niece! For stability, I decided to add one more layer to the ears. I pulled out a sheet of Kraft Chipboard to give these floppy ears a bit of stability. After tracing around the ears onto the chipboard, I used a kraft knife to cut it out. Rather than adding this to a headband, I decided on a long piece of purple satin ribbon . Not only did it give it a more feminine effect, but it also allos for this to be work by anyone, no matter the size of their head!

Final product…

I have not been able to get this to my niece yet so I wasn’t able to take a photo of it in use. I tried talking my 17 year old daughter into bringing back her modeling career for just a day but she was having NONE of that! She used to model all the boutique bows and hair pieces that I made, and she was such a willing model! What happened!!??

So, I had to suck it up and model these super cute ears myself! I couldn’t get the ears and all into the photo, but I think this shows that these ears really do work and look super cute as a bunny ear crown! lol
Photos from both sides! Heck, I kinda liked how they looked on me! I might keep them and wear them to work on Easter! Lol.
I hope I have gotten your creative juices flowing and inspired you to do a crafty project. Head on over to CutCardStock to gather up all your materials!!

I'm just a Mom and a Wife getting crafty and loving her life.
Sometimes it is chaos...sometimes it's sweet...
Sometimes I wave the white flag and Retreat.
With ten kids between my hubby and I,
There's never a dull moment and the years fly by.
My scrapbooks are full and my craft room's a mess,
So many projects---so little rest!
My son is my Angel, guiding my way
He gives me my strength and reminds me each day...
To take lots of pictures and love without measure
"When a picture is all you have, that picture becomes a treasure."
