Basketball Jersey Cards

This is the season of basketball finals and you might know a diehard fan or two rooting for their specific team. Perhaps you are the fan instead! If so, then I have a project that will have you cheering – it’s a basketball team card made to look like a jersey!

In fact, I have both a Lakers fan and a Suns fan nearby that I’m sure will love a card like this. CutCardStock papers come in all sorts of colors, so no matter what the team, chances are you will find it. My base cards are starting with the DCS Discount Purple and Pop Tone Banana Split Yellow, cut at 4.25” by 11” and folded like a top fold card.

Next, I found a jersey shape in Cricut Design Space, and removed the layers, leaving the negative cuts to line up the layers. This allowed me to cut slits to be used as stripes for my design.

These cuts were done in Adobo Orange and DCS Discount Purple, sized to 4” by 5”. On the purple jersey, I also added some details in DCS Discount Black too.

I searched for a varsity letter font next and found a style I liked in the library, then cut the phrase #1 Dad in Basis White and DCS Discount Purple. These were glued together, offset from each other to create a shadow for the yellow jersey card.

All of the cuts were laid out on the front panel to be sure of size, then glued to the front. Some additional stripes were added to my purple jersey also.

Then, it was a simple scissors cut at the top of the card, shaped like a V, to make the neck of the jersey. A sentiment inside completes the project.

I hope these cards are an idea you would like to try, especially with Father’s Day coming up! Be sure to snatch up some team colors of your own at the CutCardStock website this month too!
