Elegant Monochromatic Card

Sometimes simple monochromatic cards are the most elegant. For my project today, I used two shades of teal from the Stardust Metallic cardstock line – Aquamarine and Lagoon. I also used one of the pre-scored and precut 110# card bases. I LOVE having these card bases on hand, it is so great to have them already cut and scored, and they are a perfect heavy weight for card bases.

I pulled out a background stamp from my collection with beautiful flowers on it that I thought would be perfect for a ‘thinking of you’ card. The die that I chose is a great option to line the top of a piece of cardstock so I will use that as a topper to my focal piece.

When I’m using a large background stamp, I like to stick my panel down onto the base of my Misti with some repositionable adhesive on the back. This allows me to stamp multiple times and know that my paper won’t shift, so I can get a good solid impression.

I embossed this image with a white stain pearl embossing powder – look how beautiful that looks on the metallic cardstock! I used the aquamarine for the panel and the lagoon for my sentiment. I put double sided adhesive on the back of a strip of Lagoon cardstock before I die cut it – that way it makes a sticker once it is cut, and I didn’t have to put glue on all those fine, delicate lines.

I cut off a piece of the top of the embossed panel so it left some white space at the top of the card base and adhered the panel straight to the card base.

I lined up the sentiment to the top edge of the embossed Aquamarine panel and then burnished it down to get the adhesive to really stick.

Next, I cut off the edges of the line that went over the side and our card is done!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my card today!
