Bridal Shower Banner

Love is in the air! Happy Valentine’s Day CutCardStock fans! Next comes wedding bells, right? Perhaps you are helping to plan for an upcoming wedding this season. Or maybe you have babies, graduations and other celebrations on your mind. I have a project that will get you ready for all those Spring “showers!”

No matter what your color scheme, the CutCardStock selection will have what you need. For my event, the bride decided on theme colors in peach and navy. I’ve selected the Discount Peach card stock and cut 3.5″ by 4″ letters on my Cricut. I’ve offset these letters at a .25″ in the Basis White 80 lb. paper and cut these on the machine as well.

Next, I cut several 4″ by 6″ Basis Navy sheets of paper and trimmed them into a banner shape with a We R Makers pennant board. I love this tool for parties and it cuts several types of banner flags.

To get this shape you will lay the paper backwards through the bottom of the cutting tool. I did the same with the Basis White border also, cut at a .25″ width wider than the first panel.

All of the Discount Peach letters have been embossed with an embossing folder in a manual die cut machine. This gives the banner more dimension and I love the way the letters look against the dark background! These are added to the Basis Navy panels along with some epoxy embellishments.

In the corners of my panels I have added some floral decor and these are also made of paper. To make the roses, I’ve cut flower spirals in Basis White from my Cricut Library and twisted them in a circle, starting with the outer edge and working in.

I glue the end of each flower down at the bottom, and then slightly bend the petals out. These are then dusted with a peach ink. When adding them to my pennants, I’m also adding a Pop Tone Mint Green die cut leaf underneath the rose.

Once your pennants are finished, you will add a hole punch to each corner and then thread your banner with twine. The fun part of making your own banners is how easily you can personalize a party with names or sayings of your choosing.

I hope this project inspires you to think about creating your own decorations for an upcoming event. Don’t forget to check out the many color options on the website this month. Now, let’s get ready to party!
