Hello all! Nicole here on the blog today. Can you believe this Sunday is Mother’s Day. Crazy right?! I thought I would drop in today and share a card I put together with Basis Cardstock and origami paper.
Inspiration came from my wood fence out back and the vine that is starting to grow up the side.
I started by cutting the origami paper at two different widths and glued them to the top of my Brown Basis Cardstock base.
I left small gaps in between the origami paper to mimic the look of wood slats. Once adhered trim off any over hang. To give my “fence” the finishing touch I placed another small strip of origami paper along the top and bottom.
Using a paper piercer and a ruler I placed holes along the length of my top and bottom ‘rails’.
I found small nail head brads and placed them in each pierced hole. Aren’t those little brads just so cute?!
I finished off my card with a sentiment, flowers, and a vine cut from Green, Light Blue, Yellow, and Dark Blue Basis Cardstock.
I tied a bow from bias tape and from baker’s twine and my card was finished.
This card is for my mother-in-law and I know she will appreciate the handmade touch. Thanks for stopping by the blog today and be sure to spoil the moms in your life on Sunday. 🙂
I recently learned that you can create foil prints at home using a laminator and heat reactive foil. The trick is printing your work with a laser printer that uses toner, rather than an inkjet. No laser printer? You’re in luck!CutCardStock’s printing services use toner so you can simply order your prints and have them shipped…

The pastel colors of the Easter season are so pretty. I love all the mints, pinks and robin egg blues.
